And in Boston news ...

Yay! Where else would people browse obscure magazines while waiting to meet friends in Harvard Square?

Corporation rescues Out of Town stand

Boo! What is with these Democratic governors not wanting anyone to have fun? (Ahem, Paterson.)

What annoys me about the candy/Coke/booze taxes isn't so much that they're excise taxes (there are worse ways of raising money than discouraging people from doing unhealthy things) but that they're regressive. The cowardliness of it irks me too. (Obviously, it's unpopular to raise income or property taxes, but people only get moderately riled when you dick over the poor.)

Also in tax news, did you know that the richest people in the country actually pay less in taxes than you do? WTF?

You can do the same on 42nd street between 8th and Broadway. They have thousands of magazines from around the world . . .
