Hey, Oregon crew, let me know if you're surviving the wet weather up there.* These photos were posted by the Oregonian this morning. They show Highway 101 in Tillamook, where my dad's shop and workweek home is.
The Wilson River there has a history of flooding terribly, soaking my dad’s business. The rest of the Northwest looks a mess, too--downed trees and powerlines, etc. It’s too early or I’d call over there myself to see how things are going!
* Update, Tuesday night: Talked to my dad and brother and they have come through the storm relatively okay. A mere six inches of water in my dad’s shop, compared to two feet last year. (Bear in mind that the buildings are raised several feet off the ground.) Lost one delivery van left in the parking lot, and new carpets that were recently installed. My dad’s been without power or water for four days down the coast in Yachats, and is not looking forward to the clean-up. I'm wondering what's making the floods happen more often -- this is the fourth major flood event in the Tillamook area in recent years.
